What temps are A64 OCers getting?

My Cel D is at 48 degrees running on 1.475 volts and this is with the XP-90 HS and a 92mm fan. Prescott cores are know for their heat but I'm wondering how hot the A64s get when you OC them. Can some folks post their temps, voltages and what cooling solution they're using? Thanks.

48 degrees celcius is not hot at all, its at like 50% spec of the chip, running at that temperature and higher won't adversely affect the chip in any way for its lifespan.

AMD64 3500+ @2.475 @ 1.450 volts Idle=35C > Load=43C-47C

3200 Newcastle(stock 2.2Ghz) OCed to 2.55 at 1.55 Vcore....idle temps 32deg and 39@ load..I use XP-90 and the panaflo 92mm fan...

just remember the temp from system will be different..people living up north will have better temps than me for instance in FL..temps are in high 70s....

A64 winchester 3200@2.55 q.55v idle/1.58 load idle temp 38C/ load 51c..XP90 with Vantec Stealth 92mm fan...very quiet

yeah you guys are getting great temps, mine runs at like 45C idle and ~56C full load, this is with a slight overglock of my 3000+ running it at 2150MHz with default voltages I believe.

I can't get it much over 2150, i was able to post at like 2.3 but it would fail prime pretty quickly. 🙁 🙁 i was running the ram pretty low so I think it was either the temps or my power supply holding me back. I need to get some PC4000 a 450W PSU and a high CFM hsf w/ artcic silver to be hittin 2.3 i think. but it wouldnt really be worth it i bet. to spend like ~$100 to get 300 more megahertz 😛

my biggest system bottleneck is video anyways with my 9200, I get screen tearing on call of duty, even at 800x600 🙁

48C is that loaded or idle. If that's your load temp, you're doing excellent. If that's idle you may want to re-seat the HSF and give it another try, but you're in the ballpark. My Cel D hits 62-3 now that it's running SETI 24/7. It's @ 3.6 GHz on default voltage and those temps don't cause the slightest instability. As was mentioned, Delerons are hot but they're spec'd that way.

Athlon 64 are supposed to be cooler, but my Abit motherboard is widely regarded to exaggerate temps so I'm not sure. My temps are 42/57 with 1.5 vCore @ 2.45 and ambient temp of around 16C (pretty cool). Either way, that's not anywhere near dangerous IMHO-and if the board does lie by 5-10 degrees then it's pretty good for a 35% OC with stock cooling.

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.53GHz (230 x 11) [1.5 Vcore]
34 Idle 41 Load 🙂 I'm very happy with these CPU temps... but unhappy with the fact that my heatsink is 600g and sticks out ~6 inches. (I have the TT Silent Tower)

AMD 64 3500+ 2.64Ghz (240 x 11) [1.61 Vcore]
51 load. I'm not sure whether this high temp is because of the high vcore or the stock heatsink.
Can I use Thermalright 947U for this baby?

Anyone know if the Chaintech VNF3-250 has known temperature reporting problems? My A64 2800+ is showing at 52 idle 57 load using a TT silent tower. I thought I would have temps more like DyslexicHobo here.

superkdogg,
That's my idle temp but this asus board seems kinda flaky on temps. I live in FL so that makes a difference too.

Computer MAn,
Your rig is the one I'm thinking of getting but how come you haven't dropped the multiplier and raised the FSB? I've seen reviews at Madshrimps take it all the way to 360 stable and the Anandtech boys got this:

There a problem I should be aware of?

yeah vnf3 does have temp problem, update the bios

dude, not that this pertains to what he asked but i believe you are completely full of it.. if you idle at 32.. no way you load at 40 unless ur just surfing, play some source or something for 20 mins i doubt it only goes up to 40.. i idle at 35 but under load go almost to 55 mainly 52 is my max so either ur reading something wrong or you have water cooling. because i cant tell what that zalman is hsf or water cooling?

man....my 2500+(@2.2) idles at 33, load at 36MAX. then again, winters around here are fvcking COLD (it's -26C, plus windchill) in the summer that's gonna climb to 40, so my chip'll be roasting...

Glad I found this for I am running a 3200 and 3400 amd64 and when I first seen the temps I about had something happen in my jeans.

I am running stock hsf and from speedfan it is reading 46c idle to 58c load on the 3400 and about the same on the 3200. They are both sitting in identical boards, dfi nf3 ut250.

I ordered a xp90hsf and am going to set that up in one rig and if that helps I will order another one for the other comp.

I am just glad that I am not the only one seeing this, for I thought I was setting it up wrong. I do take the pad off of the stock hsf and apply AS3 to the core and re-applied a couple times thinking I was getting to much on or not seating the hs good.

Thanks for the thread fellow anandtechers, I appreciate it.....

take care,
socom18e out...........

Running a 3200+ Winchester at 2.75Ghz (275x10) @ 1.55v and it's idling ~32-34C ( depends on room temp ) With a zalman CNPS7000Cu

Actualy it's the updated bios that boost the temps, there is a 20c difference on my board comparing the shipping first bios to the ones after.

if you're scared at seeing the high temp numbers just flash it to the first original bios & you'll see your temps drop by a lot.

Youre all lucky. My laptop (Mobile P4 3.06 Ghz) idles at 29C, but gets to 58-61C at prolonged 60-80% load (SB, and/or NortonAV) and the load temp is with the fan on full blast.
