A mazda 3 that doesn't look like a 10 year old class clown drew it in the margins of his notebook.

LED replacement light bulb.
No really. Theres absolutely nothing new in computing to look forward to this year. Its all old technology being refined and made prettier and more convenient.

But power and energy, those are definitely areas the world can and needs to improve on. More efficient light sources being a huge one. And LED household bulbs arent so great right now. The good thing is if something is new but horribly implemented, it usually doesnt take a lot of effort to improve it.

I don't get the fascination between a tv that is 4inches of an inch? I still hang it on my wall either way.

4k is the future but not now. No source material in 4k unless you download stuff and then you have the bit rates as well...1080p looks great for now, but it'll be sweet to have a 4k tv with 4k material at high bit rates :D

I'm more excited about whatever the iphone5 brings.

PS Vita looks cool. I may get one. I paid £330 for the PSP back in 2003 from Japan with Ridge Racer and that Luminos or Lumines game? LOL

To be honest, super thin really doesn't matter to me .... what does though, is contrast and black levels. They matter a lot.

And 4K would be wonderful for progressively scaled 1080P content. DVD's look pretty good upscaled to 1080p on my 106 inch screen, a LOT better than without upscaling. I imagine bluray would scale very impressivly too.

Also, I would love to try some games out at 4K :)
I've got my secondary PC set up in the basement hooked up into my HT projector and reciever ... and games can be more immersive with the scale increased .... however, 1080p is a bit too low for 106 inches at 8-10 foot view distance IMO...

Lets see what are there to get excited about

Cotton Candy Android - don't need it
Samsung Galaxy S II = don't need or want it either
Technoholik Siddhartha Sharm = Ditto
ASUS eee Pad Transformer Prime TF700 - no
Toshiba Excite X10 -no
Acer Iconia Tab A700 - no
iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak: iPhone 4S, iPad 2 Jailbreak - hell no

So there isn't much new technology just stuff with fancy new casing and a design trim to make it look more attractive for woman using Firefox and Facebook

Better display technology!!!

I want CRT style black levels and contrast, with today's cheap panel pricing.
I want 4K projectors to drop in price
I want laptops to not have such shitty resolution on their screens.
I don't want "LED Backlit" I want true LED monitors with super thin profiles, OLED or "Crystal LED" come to mind.

I want awesome black levels, awesome contrast, great pixel density, and cheap prices... And this year ... I think we'll see some improvements in all fronts!
I don't really expect any of that stuff to change much this year. I think OLED displays are still five years away from being a real choice for consumers (like under $2,000 for at least a 40" set) and there are some real issues with OLED color fading that need to be resolved. Laptops will continue to have shitty resolution unless Apple creates a desire for people to have high res displays and then PCs will follow.
