What tablet should I get?

I currently have the surface pro3 and it is no longer under any type of warranty. Unfortunately the stylus (both that I own) malfunctions on it so much that it is pretty much unusable (~once and hour for 15 min straight). I primarily use this to take notes with onenote so I would like something that is similar. I have a setup where I sync them in real time using dropbox (and not onedrive due to network latency issues where I am). I am thinking of just replacing this thing.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
 
Have you looked into replacing the stylus itself first? Assuming the issue isn't with the tablet itself.

If you do have to replace the tablet, the safest answer is a Surface Pro 4. It'll have the experience you're familiar with, just improved.
 
Yeah it's the tablet itself. I've been through several stylus's. I may just go ahead and upgrade to the sp4 but really am not wanting to lay out all that $$ for the same stylus/tablet issues, if it's a common problem.
