What system could run Half-Life 2 full-out?

My system does a semi-decent job of playing HL2; it's a 3200+ with 2 gigs of ram and a 64mb 9600 Radeon. It plays with everything at about half, textures, AA, etc. Are there any systems available now that could run HL2 full-out on every setting at say 1280x1024 resolution? Even Lost Coast? I think it'd be sweet to get a nice 50" plasma and play through once with everything maxed out :)

Yeah, easy. All you need is a high end video card. A Radeon 9600 is ancient as far as video cards go.

my 9800xt does everything max 1024x768 2xaa. a 6600gt or 6800 or x800 would probably do 1280x1024 2xaa everything else maxed.

HL2 isn't a very new or graphics demanding game. F.E.A.R. and BF2 are a lot more system intensive. A last gen high end video card like an X850 or 6800GS should be able to do it.

"t3h..." is right, HL2 is more CPU Dependant for higher fps.

Maxed out as in...

Dell 30" display, max res
32xAA
16xAF
Cinematic mod downloaded

??

I would say quad 7800GTX 512MB.

My 7800GT @ GTX speeds has a tough time running it at 1280x1024, 16xAA, 16xAF, Cinematic Mod textures. I'm saving up for a second one.

Oh yeah BTW

Standard 50" Plasma Display = 1280x768

Your monitor = 1280x1024

Dell 30" = 2560x1600

...

Plasma sucks...
