I have a huge pool of nice restaurants that I choose from, then usually I take my date to someplace quiet or someplace fun -- bar, club, bowling, beach, etc. Depends on the girl.

Concerts by local bands are always a good time, if you and your date are into music. Little things are good to do together-- going for a walk, building a snowman (if it's snowy), staying in and watching a movie. For first dates, dinner and a movie, bowling, mini-golf etc. are all good ideas. Keep it creative and always make it fun. :0D

Try http://www.citysearch.com/, there's tons of stuff to do in a lot of cities. If you're not near a city, that's a bit more difficult. But there's always stuff to do. Dinner, dancing, bowling, karaoke. (lots of women LOVE a guy who'll get up and sing, even if they're terrible) Remember that a good date rarely depends on where you take her.

Nice french or italian resturant for intimacy one on one ..or TGI fridays if it's a group. I only go to the movies if I have no intrest in seeing it.

My favorite kind happens this time of year. Take her to a "fun" restarunt like TGI Friday, Ruby Tuesday, Chi Chi's, something like that. Then go to a corn maze and run around for a bit. If you don't know what a corn maze is, its a field of corn, a few acres, that some one cuts a maze into, so its like your a lab rat going through a maze. Its a good time, its a great time if its dark and your date is frienly

Eat and hang somewhere.

I like Santa Monica in LA cuz you can walk 3rd st, the pier and hang out on the beach. There other nice outdoor malls in the LA area that I like, the Grove is pretty nice, pleasant, classy outdoor common area and nearby farmer's market you can try some snacks while browsing around.

Also consider botanical gardens, nice atmosphere. Art festivals and museums are kind of nice also.

Try a bonfire by the beach sometime. Bring food, blankets and wood of course.

Italian restaurants in general tend to have good atmospheres, though I don't particularly care for italian food. Restaurants overlooking bodies of water are always nice.

I don't like movies for first dates cuz you don't get to talk to the girl.

One of these days, I will take one of my dates to the shooting range and/or illegal street races. :Q

It's getting close to apple-picking season here in Michigan. Otherwise, there's a Dave and Busters not terribly far from me. I like bowling (despite how bad i suck at it), and Windsor is just a few minutes away.

To tell you the truth, I enjoy cooking a romantic dinner for two then enjoying it under candle light
