What states do you think are the worst to live in? The best to live in?

Hawaii is one of the worst AND best to live in.

Some people absolutely hate it (Island Fever) . . . others wouldn't dream of anywhere else.

Cali is another state that gets both my votes. Awesome AND Overcrowded.

I think "best/worst" is all a state of mind. Home is where you hang your hat (heart).

I live in Utah now...the only thing nice about this place is the mountains....they are sweet..the camping and the lakes...wow!
I am from Louisiana...i cant say it is better...its a very poor state....but the feeling you get when you are there is like no other feeling from any other state...guess i dont really have a vote =p

Well, maybe i'm a bit biased because i live here Also, i think Boston is one of the nicest cities in the country. The suburbs in Eastern Mass is quite nice though.. dunno about Western Mass. though, but i imagine it's probably gloomy.

i am from NC. i moved to Ohio when I was 8. all the good people up there called me and my family the Beverly Hillbillies. they would ask us if we had dirt floors, and if people down south wore shoes.

It goes both ways.

also, i knew someone from maryland at my school and we always referred to him as "yank". and introduced him by saying, "even if hes a yank". he was never angered by it.





again, i gave three for my votes for best states but actually, i've only ever lived in KY so i just threw em out there.

I've been living in NJ for close to a year now, and I dont like it that much. Car insurance costs a bundle, property is expensive, pollution is rampant, the air smells, the New Jersey Turnpike is expensive and congested, etc.

I enjoyed my time when I was in Delaware, property is quite cheap, no sales tax on anything, close enough to Philly that you could go there if you get bored.

I also like the Washington, DC metro area, I was raised in suburban Maryland, so I am biased of course, but I think it's a great place to live.

Lived in Kentucky for a long while. Loved it but the real paying jobs were down in here in NC (not anymore, I'm afraid).

But I'd have to say, on a daily basis, the best is the Inebriated state.

Out of the ten states I've lived in the worst three (in order) are:

1) Louisiana
2) Florida
3) Virginia

The Best:

1) Alaska
2) Upstate New York
3) California

Louisiana sucked hard! Hot, flat, and trashy. People there don't seem to know how to use a trashcan or litterbag and there is litter EVERYWHERE. I've never lived in a state in which people didn't seem to take any pride in it's appearance. No offense to any fellow AT'ers in Louisiana; if you're not a slob you are in a minority there.

Alaska is the most beautiful state I've lived in and the last one I will ever move to. I felt like I had come home as soon as I arrived. This is where I will live, die and be buried!
