I really hate surveys that tailor the responses. How about "9/11 was an attack of the western world by an antiquated religion that wants to rule the world and Iraq was harboring supporters waiting to become active."? Or, "Iraq was an excellent place to build a mouse trap and it's working".?
I agree that the survey was poorly stated, but you are missing an even more vital point here. As a democracy, we have fallen in love with surveys and polls and public opinion, so much so that we forget that there are things where it doesn't matter what you believe, or how many people agree with you. I happen to think your statements are wrong, but in the end, it doesn't matter what I think, or what you think, or what legions of voters think. There are facts behind what happened, and what is happening now. Politics is all about twisting those facts (or inventing them) to support what people already believe. But that doesn't make the facts any less true. That's the difference between truth and belief.
