what stand-alone TV out cards(not Video cards/DVD decoders with tv out) are available these days?

As far as I can tell, I can't find any brooktree(the quality of which would be fine for most things) based stand alone cards.

I ALWAYS thought there were standalone TV-out cards, but apparently there isn't.

My brother recently replaced his V3 3000 AGP with a V5 5500 AGP only to realize that he no longer has a TV ouput.

The only solution I found is this http://www.focusinfo.com/products/tview_goldpci/tview_goldpci.htm but it's price at $150...but apparently it has killer quality.

jaybert, those are not TV out cards. Those are TV tuner/Capture or "TV in" cards, pretty much the opposite of what I'm looking for, thanks for replying though :)

hehe if you didn't notice the title of thread implies I don't want DVD decoders with TV out because they can only output DVD playback, not normal Windows programs or games unless you can say otherwise.

Again thanks for replying, at least you're trying to help :)

Well, since all you want is TV output without adding/replacing any of your cards, the only thing that comes to mind is an external VGA-to-TV converter like the AverKey and others. Aver Media?

Hope I got the link right... it's been a while.

Thanks bluemax, that's what I'm looking for!

If I had any soundfonts worthy of your attention I'd send 'em :)
