What speed pIII is the best for everclocking? If overclocking is possible, what cooling solutions would be necessary?

I have a pIII mboard socket 370 currently with a celeron 433 @ 550. I want to get a pentium III that i will be able to overclock. I am currently using a Global Win FOP32-1. Will this be sufficient if i do want to overclock? Also, has anyone purchased a copper shim for their pIII in order to increase surface area of the cpu that is in contact with the HSF??

Thanks!!

The FOp32-1 is sufficient.

A 700E cC0 is probably best. If you wnat a guaranteed one, e-mail either bonkers325 or compuwiz1.

As far as the shim, htey do not increase cpu contact area. The cpu is only that little slug in the middle. The rest is fiberglass substrate. Shim does not improve heatsink performance, and in fact may hurt it. The only real benefit is that they help insure flat heatsink mounting.
