Damn CD-RW prices are low, I remember when I paid $190 for my Plextor 12/10/32A from Onvia.com and that was a great price, everyone else was paying $250.

Now-a-days you can buy a CenDyne 24/10/40 for $35 after coupon and rebate with FREE SHIPPING from OfficeMax.com!

Paid ~160 for my Plextor 16/10/40. I was going to pick up the Lite-On 40x from Dell for $80 shipped, but I really can't justify spending $80 dollars to save 2 minutes...

Soon to be upgraded to a 40X (Again Plextor, again black).

TDK VeloCD 12X/10X/32X

And yes, the prices ARE getting ridiculous. I can get a Lite-On 32X/10X/40X (rebadged Plextor) for $119.98CDN.

24X is sure a long ways from my first 1X SCSI burner. I love being able to burn a full disc in about 3 minutes. :D

I remember when I bought my first CDRW, an HP 2x4x24 (or something like that), it was around $200 and that seemed like a steal at the time.

N8magic,
I am sure lite-ons are not rebadged plextors. They are better than plextors is some respects though!
add the 32X to poll!

That was the one I was going to buy - I ended up buying the Memorex CRW-1622 (2x2x6) for $150 though....which seemed like a steal too :D

A friend of mine bought a Smart & Friendly 2x4x6x (I think, anyhow it was slow) for like $300 at Fry's when they first came out.

Have a Plextor 12/4/32 SCSI. Paid whatever it was hypermicro.com was selling them for when it came out, probably $200 something. Has never given me a single problem though, works just as well as it did on day one. 5-6 minutes isn't too long for me for a CD, so I'm happy with it still. :)

I had a Smart and Friendly brand 1x burner for a while. It could make coasters REALLY slowly. :|

Now I have a Lite-On 16x10x32x (I think, maybe 40x on the end) at home and a Plextor 12/10/32 at work.
