My first post here on this forum so hi guys.
Stupid problem really which I could have avoided by a bit of organisation. I bought my memory a while back and can't remember the model number. What I do know is:
TwinMOS
256Mb (i have two of these totalling 512)
CL2
If I set the memory timings in the BIOS to auto it chooses 2.5-3-3-7 which isn't much help as I already know the latency is 2.0. I can set these manually and the system appears to run normally even at 2-2-2-6 with 1T command control enabled (though I only set this 15 minutes ago and haven't run any memory tests).
If I run CPU-Z i get a reading of:
Timings table
Frequency (MHz) 166 166
CAS# 2.0 2.5
RAS# to CAS# delay 3 3 3
RAS# Precharge 3 3
TRAS# 7 7
Does the CPU-Z give the true rating of the memory or do I go with what I have set in the BIOS?
The whole reason for me wanting to find out is that i'm looking to upgrade to a 64bit chip.
If either 2-2-2-6 or 2-3-3-7 are the true specs does anyone know (from things i've read, Zebo seems to be trustworthy source) if this would make it a contender to use with the winchester 3000+?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Hopefully if you can answer my questions it may save me spending money changing memory which is potentially OK.
