I'm tired of my Logitech Z-640 Speakers cracking and sounding crappy. I also don?t really need 5.1 anymore. I heard the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 were really good speakers. I'm mainly going to use it for music. Thanks for any recommendations.
 
No, its definatly the speakers. I've had them for close to 5 years now, and the X-fi is brand new.
 
The Klipsch are really nice for the price.
The M-Audio Studiophile LX4 2.1 system is better.

You might want to update your X-Fi to the latest driver. I still get some crackles with mine on occasion and I use AKG K701 headphones w/ an external Dac/Amp. 🙁
 
I have the Klipsch Promedias. Very, very good for computer speakers. And since MP3s are only 2 channels you arn't loosing anything special with a 2.1 setup.
