I need some new speakers cause the $50 speakers that I have now just aren't that great. I was thinking OI would get the logitech z680, or the z560, is there any major differences in the two besides the z560 not having a remote control and being 50 watts less powerful? Cause at a local shop (Vancouver, BC) it is $395 for the z680's and $200 for the z560's, the z680's are really tempting, are they worth it? Should I get logitech or is there something else I should be looking at? Thanks for your help.

Iv'e heard many good things about the Z680's THX certified. Also the creative THX in 6.1. Both speakers produce equal quality sound, which is designed for preferably larger rooms due to the big watt output.

if i were going to spend that much i'd get this

sound way better than either of those 1 way plastic bodied logitec speakers will

plus i think logitech is overrating the wattage on their speakers.

not that wattage really means anything

I'd get a nice receiver and nice set of Mission or Polk or something bookshelf speakers... actual computer speakers are a distant thing of the past for me..

If you are going to spend that much money ($400+) you'd probably be better off getting a nice home theatre setup on sale.

Have you ever owned a set of nice Logitechs?

The 2.1 Systems by them are made cheap, but the Z-560's are great, i have em..

I got em for $150 on sale at CompUSA, thought it was a good deal and i bought em! There definatly not cheap and plastic. For $150 you get really great sound.

If you spend $300 thought on a 6.1 500w THX system it WOULD sound better, dunno it's it's worth twice as much for two speakers :)
