so you're telling me when they rap, all of the lyrics just come to them and they rhyme and everything so conveniently?

I think that comes from them being regular players on the show. Just compare it to Thank God You're Here. That show sucks because none of them regularly work with each other (and because its scripted). If you did the whose line show from week to week I'd guess you'd get good at it. I mean most of those songs are really similar in structure.

And it's pretty obvious it's not scripted. Just look at Colin's rap in the Stephen Colbert rap skit. He's got nothing.

Is this one staged?

Probably, I don't see how it couldn't be scripted. I mean look at each person's last line in their part (where the music descends, getting ready for the next person), they just roll through it and it seems obvious they're reading cue cards or something. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think they're THAT creative.

Edit: Drew Carey pretty much gives it away in his part of the skit...

It's called improv. It's actually very popular in Quebec, and no, this stuff isn't scripted. People can get really good at it especially when they work together as much as the Whose Line crew and they also happen to be comic geniuses.

I'd have to disagree with your scripted stance. I mean the part were they pull some folks out of the audience and have them do sound effects, I don't think that could be very well scripted. also, in one of the skits, ryan was pretending to keep getting his head stuck to objects and he went to stick his head on the front of drews desk and busted the neon light that was on the front of the desk. The reaction was like "oh sh1t, you ok." I don't think that could have been scripted. Also the richard simmons episode, I just could see that being scripted.
