I'm currently using a set of altec lansing 5.1 speakers with my new build. I'm using a gigabyte GA-k8NF9 with an athlon 64 3500 cpu. The board has realtek sound built in. I connect the speakers to the onboard sound ports and I get a nasty buzzing/distorted sound that comes out of the speakers. Also, even when I have the speakers turned up only one notch on the sound control panel, it's pretty damn loud, so I need to turn the wave volume almost all the way down. The speakers themselves have no volume control.
I bought these speakers 3 years ago for about 300 bucks so I'm not really lookin to throw them out n get new ones unless it's a last resort. These speakers were working before with my turtle beach santa cruz. I tried putting that card in this computer but there are no internal ports for front panel audio (which I use a lot). Is there any sound card I can get that will work with these speakers and has internal connectors for front audio? Any other solutions anyone?
