Hi all I have an FIC VA503+, K6III+ 450, VooDoo3 3000 AGP, Iomega 12x10x32 CD-RW. I am not looking for top of the line, more like the middle range. Mostly interested in what possible conflicts to stay away from. Thanks

Seems like an obvious choice would be a Soundblaster Live Value. They sell for about $40 and has all the features of the more expensive models except that they don't have all this fancy software bundled. It also depends on your speakers, what kind do you have?

Werd up! If you go down to your local office depot the SB X-gamer can be picked up for $49. I doubt you'll find the value edition as cheap as these guys say you will. There is a coupon code for $15 off $50 so you can get it for $40 or so plus a dollars worth of paperclips or something.

The Philips AE is a great card, but requires more CPU cycles to run. The SBLive! cards function much better under gaming and such, as the AE slows downs games due to it's need for cpu cycles. If you have cpu cycles to spare then the AE is a great card, but either way I still recommend any of the Live! series cards.
