Come on give us ASEs some credit...EEs don't do everything.

EEs probably design the actual device, but I can assure you that the algorithm that goes into it was, in part, developed by an aerospace engineer. A lot of people think that it's as easy as grabbing a few numbers from a satellite when really, a whole hell of a lot of computations dealing with orbital mechanics and estimation need to be done before the unit spits out a coordinate to you.
