Man or beast?

I just got a new camera today, so I headed out 20 minutes ago to take some quick and dumb shots (not a pro whatsoever). Saw tracks leading around my house. There are plenty of deer that live in the area and I know what they look like, so I'm guessing it's not deer (it was much bigger tracks, for one).

I know little about animal tracks, so for all I know it's just shoes... help me out here.

Pretty degraded. Could be human. Need pics of more than one together, and need scale.

Hmm, i could take another shot. Give me a minute.

EDIT: Too much snow melt :( It probably is just a human footprint.

I don't think the current shape of that bare spot is strongly linked to the shape of whatever made it, if anything did.

Yeah, too much melt now, should have gone out earlier when it was fresh.

I was curious because there have been bears in our area before (one adult was strolling in front of my house about 2 years ago), but it's not a lot to go on.

Yeah we get black bears around here too. I've had one wander into the back yard while I was working, and one pass by just off the property line. In both cases my dogs immediately tried to suicide on the bear, so it didn't have any additional attention span for me.

A single distinct bear print is more rounded, but that could be a paw that was dragged in the snow. At this point it's really hard to say. One key thing would be: is this a lone mark or is there a trail of them?
