I don't think the internet need another,"Who was better Keith Moon or John Bonham?" thread but folks here are a great deal more rational. So, can some folks site some examples for me? I want to hear 'em.

His best is on video, but I don't remember the song. It was a nearly five-minute intro (solo) to the song.

He was recorded at making strokes faster than any other recorded drummer in history, in that intro. :) Damn, I wish I could remember!

He and Carter Beauford are my idols.

Magic Bus had some good drumwork on it and almost any cut from the Who's Next album would be good imho.

Another vote for "Won't Get Fooled Again". Also, "My Generation" or almost anything he did. He was very unique in that he didn't really keep the beat, but almost soloed constantly. John Entwhistle and Pete Townsend kept stricter time than Keith did.

I used to think that Bonham was overrated until I listened further and realized that some of his stuff was HARD to play. He used to work as a brickmason and had phenomenal leg strength which allowed those bass drum triplets and heavy grooves. The shuffle he plays on "Fool In The Rain" is amazing.

If you want to see a great drummer in action, go see John Mellencamp (really, I am serious).

His drummer is totally hardcore.
