What is the best solder to user for a Power Jack connector on a laptop?
Rosin Core? Silver Bearing?

EDIT: Upon closer inspection, the copper power lead is cracked....any idea how to repair this piece? This is the part that goes from the back of the jack to the mobo. I looked at extra power jacks for this model online and the picture shows it without the power lead. :(

For all electronics work a Rosin Core 60/40 mix solder is the best choice.

Rosin core for sure. But, make certain you have a good mechanical joint independent of the solder. Without that, the result is usually a cold joint, and that port takes quite a bit of torque and abuse from users.

If you're asking...
Take it to someone that does it for a living. Cold joints are the pits.
