what software to use to determine cdr burn speed?

i need an application that can check the fastest speed at which a cdr can write properly. i have some 16x cdrs, and im using a lite-on 48x burner, i want to burn my cds faster but i dont know when they will top out. any software that can do this? i used to know a cd identifier called cdrinfo or something, but i dont remember.

If you have Nero, I believe there is an application that is included that will do this. However, the Lite-On drive "determines" the capable speed of your media and burns it at that speed. It "reads" the disk before it burns. You can set it, theoretically, to whatever you want but it (the Lite-On) will only burn at what it (the media) can handle.
Of course, this is just something I read on a site while doing some research about my 32x Lite-On; YMMV on the "believe-ability" of it. 😀
