What software to use for seeing the frequency of music?

Free? Not sure. I've used SoundForge XP though. It's an older program (not sure if there's a new version out though) but I think it should do what you want. I really know nothing about audio though.

if i understood your question right, what you want is a prog that can perform "Spectrum Analysis".... for such, i've used SoundForge. the command is under the menu Tools. if you dont have SoundForge, you can try CoolEdit 2000 (now called Adobe Audition).

the last suggestion i have is to try AnalFreq 1.80. doesnt seem to be as accurate as the first 2 progs i've cited, but it can get the job done. here is a link about it: http://www.msu.edu/~buckeled/spectrum.htm.

good luck.
