what software to open *.dmg, *.img and *.sit files?

I'm not sure about the .img or the .dmg, but I can tell you that .sit is an extension used by Stuffit on the Mac. Stuffit Expander opens those.

This may help you with .img and .sit, still looking for .dmg. It looks to be a mac only file though, well all do.

EDIT: ahh here is something from some forum.
".dmg" files are self-mounting disk images. Simply double-click the downloaded file and it will open via Mac OS X's built-in "Disk Copy" utility. You can then drag whichever files you want out of the mounted disk image, just as if it was a real, physical disk.
