Hello all.

I have a sapphire x1900xtx and I wanted to test video-input. I plan to eventually convert some old VHS tapes on my PC

but right now I just wanted to try out my PS2 on my LCD monitor.

my WDMs were messed up with the latest catalyst 6.8 but I've fixed that now.

I tried a software called VLC Player and while I did manage to get an image and sound from my ps2.. the image was blurry and just plain ugly and there was a 1 second delay which rendered games unplayable.

I'm looking for THE best software to do this.. to just display whatever's plugged to the video-input of the VIVO cable (using composite for now though I do have a composite to s-video adapter if that could make a difference in lag).

And also the best software for my eventual capture of old VHS tapes (something that will sync the sound right and give the best video quality possible)

your insights are appreciated as always

thanks

Lag is usually a problem with the hardware but there is plenty of software that can cause lag too. The lowest-latency I've seen is using graphedit and generating your own filtergraph. Obviously not the easiest. Media Player Classic would probably do just as good. Just choose File->Open Device I believe it is. MPC can also record but I'd recommend Windows Media Encoder for that, possibly.
