Nitemare

I've tried powerdvd and it does not like my machine. Is there a codec for windows media that allows it to be used or what do you use?

Another vote here for WinDVD - it and PowerDVD are the top two. I couldn't get PowerDVD to work right on my rig.

my fav is PowerDVD, but since it refuese to install on your rig.. try winDVD or ATI-player (only if u use ATI graphic card)
i think... if u install any DVD player program, then you can play it with windows media player

I used WinDVD 3.0 with 98Se and ME, and it was great. After XP Pro, it was no longer useable without a patch, and the "free" patch was uninstallable.

So, I got PowerDVD 4.0 which is made for XP, and all is cool.

A lot depends on your OS and video card.
