What software should I select?

Hello guys, a few weeks back at school we were given access to a bunch of software which would be "FREE" for students enrolled in the Computer IT program. I already got Windows 7 Professional from here but now I'm looking for some type of Video editing software so I can make YouTube videos of some gameplay. I wanted to know what you guys recommend I get? I want to get advantage of the Free access that has being granted to me and get all the software that I could use.

Expression Studio will work for some transcodes. It's works pretty well and does do screen recording and all that. It's not a non-linear editor though. If you're looking to add effects and whatnot, I don't think MS provides anything outside of movie maker.

There are other well established apps to record gameplay, like fraps. I imagine there's decent freeware to do the job as well.

That said, if it's free I'd probably dabble in everything there.

Its all FREE for students like me lol so I guess I'll just start trying stuff out and see what I find, nothing stands out to me and a lot of this stuff I don't know what it is, thats why I asked. I have game recording software already called "Banidcam" I just need some software to edit my gameplay footage.....Now, if I download the copy of Windows 8 they offer on that site, will I be able to mod it somehow and put it on a Tablet? Blah! I don't know what I'm doing, but don't hurt to ask:whiste:
