When you're backing up data, copying disks or burning music what software do you prefer to use?

I'm using an old version of CDRWin but Nero was much better when I had it installed

i'm using the WinXP burning program:(.... i've only made data CD thus far, no problems. I have no idea if it can make audio CDs.

EasyCD 4.0 doesn't work in WinXP and I have to pay to upgrade. Serves me right not getting a CD burner that came with Nero.

nero. I love the 80MB buffer and caching to my RAM disk. never even dreams of slowing itself down for an underrun or halting the laser for burn-proof to have ever kicked in.

Nero and Fireburner. I used to use WinOnCD and it was pretty good. The only real reason I stopped using it was because the "copy" I had only came with German instructions.

Speaking of nero, any hints on how to allow an ordinary power user in Windows 2000 to burn a CD? Admin can do it, but a power user cannot. Nero 5.5.5.1 help mentions a security tab in the properties dialog, but my version lacks this tab.

SpecialEd: EasyCD 4 works in WinXP, as long as you install the Windows XP Application Compatibility Update (found at Windows Update). Roxio says they do not support it, and WinXP will give you a message about incompatible drivers, but it is still fully functional. I am using it now because v.5 sucks.

Nero... I have had no problems with Nero...

CDRwin is OK, but Nero is better. EZ-CD i have never had good luck with, even burning audio CD's.. useless software!

AHEAD NERO ALL THE WAY.

XCDroast. I have also been thinking about giving CDBakeOven a shot.

Of course, I do my burning in Linux.

Nero all the way.

Funny story, when I had Windows ME, and NERO, I could never utilize the Just-Link in my HP Burner (Similar to Burnproof.), but now that I have WinXP and Nero, it uses the Just-Link. Anywayz, me and my friend were TRYING to get a buffer underrun while burning On the fly at 12x. When it was done, it said "Buffer Underrun avoided 135 times."

I was happy.
