What slots to put memory in?

Just reading through my new P5B Deluxe manual and it does not indicate in what slots to place your ram memory for dual channel mode. Got 2 1GB ram sticks, matching pairs. In the past (asus, abit etc) the manual indicates to run in dual channel mode the sticks are to be place in the bays with matching colours. The P5b manual does not indicate this. So which bays do I install them in for dual channel mode?
 
The rule of thumb is still to put them in the slots of the same color. That is pretty much a standard across all motherboards now.
 
The manual show that channel 1 is dimma1 and dimma2. SO, I guess that you have to use these slots.

you could try both position(same channel then same color) and benchmark it to find the best performance
