Someone loaned me the Seabiscuit DVD, so I started to watch it on my 13-inch TV. With the bands on the top and bottom, it looked like a story about some cute toy horses and some tiny people. Not a success.

I'm getting a new TV soon, and I want to make sure I can watch my WS movies. What's a good size? Is 27 inches enough for a good show, or should I save longer and wait and get something bigger?

Good advice.

Right now I watch everything on a 27 inch Sony that I picked up about six years ago. I really wouldn't want anything smaller.

For 4:3 I wouldn't recomment anything smaller than 27", save more and get a 16:9 :)

I recently moved from a 27" to a 32" ,and I have to say, I don't know if 27 was really acceptable. 32 I find is very adequate.

27"
and flat really helps with the widescreen bit. depends how close u sit, at 27" u gotta be close. some of those new sony wide tu bes with really low dot pitches are quite amazing. up close they look more like monitors then tvs.
