Hey, I started snowboarding this year and its pretty fun. Rental fees are pretty crazy and I'm thinking about buying a used board/bindings. I am 6' 2'' tall and about 175 pounds. Anyone know approximately what length board I should buy? Thanks

I don't have a tape measure on me ATM. Does anyone know roughly off the top of their head or know a program that can calc it?

Generally, it's by weight and then what type of riding you plan to do (park & pipe or free-ride). A shorter board is more maneuverable while a longer board is more stable under speed. I'd say you should start looking around 156 - 158 and go shorter if you intend to do more park & pipe and longer if you want to cruise.

However, each board is different in terms of flex and stiffness, so you should look at the recommended weight ranges for any board you plan to buy.

if you are a true 6'2" then yours will be about 2.5 cm longer than mine.

Also I've just rented a couple of sizes and then once I found the best size for me I went and bought one that size

EDIT: Good luck and have a great time!

That about link is too simplistic. You should consider weight before length. Anything between you chin and nose is fine but you should consider the weight range (stiffness) the board is intended for. I'm almost positive that recommending a 166 for a relatively novice boarder who weighs only 175lbs is not a good idea.
