How do you know its not gonna cut it? Cheap quality? My quality ALlied 300W PSU runs my system fine. But if you need a new PSU, for under $50 you can get the Enlight 420W which is very quiet ($46 at newegg) or an Allied 400W ($33). Another good alternative is the Enhanced Electronics 350W ($30), the only downsize with this PSU is that the fan is quite loud but easily solved. If money is no object, go for the Antec TruePower 550W.

antec true power psu's rock
get any name brand tho atleast 400watt is what i would recommend especially if you plan on overclocking
but you can try your 300watter it just might work who knows

Its an old Antec that came in my old case, but it dosent have the 4 pin connector my new mobo needs...

The Antec 400 watt is $60+shipping from newegg, think its worth the price difference over the other ones you mentioned?

Quiet is a MUST.

Wow!!! Newegg has the allied 400watt one for $29.99! and a True 450Watt for $41... Which one is better? How good/reliable/quiet is it?

those are pretty good deals
I would say pick that 450 up
you can go to the manufacturer's website and compare the voltage rails of the two if you really wanna know which one is better

i never totally understood the whole rail jumbo... any good sites to explain it?

I have an Antec True Power 330W that handles my 2400+ just fine. According to the specs you listed you'll be fine with 300W-350W and have room to spare. Quality PSU is all you'll need to be on the lookout for.

YES!!!

okay....

here's what you get....

fortron 350W

this is more than enough

what you need to look out for is the 3.3V and 5.0V rail combined... make sure it can do around 220-230W

this one can do 220W combined + the variance in the voltage is less than 1% which makes this a GREAT psu for less than 40 bucks.

if you're worrieda bout teh brand... fortron is the same as sparkle 🙂

Yes I agree, the Fortron FSP 350W is a nice power supply. I have one. And Directron has excellent service. I replaced the fan with a quiet case fan and added a quiet intake fan. I thought the fan that comes with it is loud, but then I'm real picky that way.

I would get the Allied 400W $30 instead, 220W combined also.

I would get the Enermax 350w model. I use this psu, and in a recent review by TomsHardware should that the power supply actually supplied more power than it was rated for.. a max or around 390w if I remember correctly. It's perfect stable for my system, as I have 4 hard drives, 2 optical drives, a radeon 9500 pro and a overclocked 1800 tbredB. Also got 5 case fans and 2 cold cathodes 🙂

It's perfectly stable.
