What should the SUSTAINED Data Rate for a Maxtor 60GB 7200rpm IDE Hard Drive be?

I have two 60GB 7200rpm Maxtor drives and I am getting about 2000'ish Kbytes/sec according to a video editing capturing program. Is this correct or way too low? It appears to be really really low. :(

I'm running it on a Iwill KK266-R motherboard (on the non-raid channel) with a AMD 1.33Ghz Processor. Any help? LMK, thanks! :D

Where do you get the latest Via 4 in driver pack from? I don't think I have the latest. :(

Don't have my screenshot with me here at work, but I remember the HD Tach "beginning" was about 35000KB/s and the end was about 26000KB/s.

Avg was 31000KB/s

Hmm..okay. I updated the VIA drivers to the newest (4.32) but it only bumped the speed up a little (2500 Kbytes/sec). Actually, when I was installing it, it always hits 100% and then freezes the comp. Could that be the reason its not working right?

I ran HDTach on a Win2K SP2 machine that was using the Microsoft IDE drivers - I did NOT install 4-in-1's.

Experience has taught me that the VIA IDE driver in the 4-in-1's tend to break various applications, including HD Tach. i.e, after installing the 4.28 4-in-1's in Win98SE, HD Tach no longer runs - just hangs the system.
