Interviewing on my college campus with a big software company, and they said at their company "employees are usually dressed casually, but if you feel more comfortable in business attire you are welcome to wear it."

Can I just wear well-fitting jeans and a long sleeve dress shirt? Or should I go for slacks, dress shoes and the shirt?

probably the second one...when some people say "casually" they mean not in a suit. i think it's safer anyway since if they consider that "business attire" (which I doubt) you're still good, and then when/if you get the job you can ask a co-worker what they mean by "casually"...better to play it safe.

Never ever wear jeans.

Slacks/khakis with a long-sleeve shirt (hopefully pressed or ironed) is the safest way to go "casually."
