They're actually quite expensive. The best option actually is probably the Loctite/Permatex rear window defogger kit (for cars), available at auto parts stores. The part # for the Permatex stuff is 765-1460.

Or you could use the pencil trick and spend about $.0000000000000000001 on it. The pencil trick has not worn out... and I've had my Duron for about 6 months. (it's @1050 right now)

I'm going for the ultra cheap and ultra permanent SOLDER job. I wouldn't recommend this for everyone... but if you have an experienced hand at soldering, it will be a quick, easy, and permanent UNLOCKING.

THe conductive pen sounds good to me too... I dont' like the Rear Window Defrogger kit idea... and I just fail to see how pencil trick really works. I mean... graphite isn't that conductive... but those pads are EXTREMELY close together.

Just my $0.02

thats the point, graphite isnt that conductive but the current doesnt have to go very far. i couldnt get it to work though, tried evey pencil in the house before i went out and got some copper paint and put it on with a whittled down toothpick. comes off with any mild pait remover with no trace left on the chip.

but realy dood, dont give anyone money for those strips, its just a gimick like those copper spacers that they sell too. if you want that setup just find the right pencil and then put a peice of tape over it.

I used the rear window defroster repair fluid last week. It works much better than pencils in my case. It's fairly easy to put on and only costs 9 bucks at most auto stores. I got mine at a small local joint.

When you put it on, sharpen a toothpick or use a needle. All you have to do is just slightly dip it in the solution then 'dab' it between the bridges. It expands (at least mine did) like you would expect a fluid to do. It dries almost instantly and you can very easily 'chip' or 'scrape' it off if you mess up and it hits another bridge. It also helps to use a magnifying glass when you apply it. But don't sweat it at all if you mess up. It's super easy to scrape off. I've read that some people just put one big mass over all the bridges then scrape in between them with a xacto blade. It just chips away, no prob at all.

Anyhow the stuff is fantastic. The pencil trick only partially worked for my Duron700. This stuff totally unlocked it without a hitch!

This is the stuff:
