what should i use to secure network cable around a door?

Go to your local hardware store or walmart and get those nails with the plastic bracet. These are designed for coax cables but you can get the smaller sizes which will also fit cat 5. I use this in my house.

If you don't want to marr the surface of whatever you are anchoring to you could also get the adhesive backed anchors that you use zip ties with. These work great too, but I would go with blstriker's recommendation. Its more secure this way and less obvious. Not to mention that zip ties can be painful if you run into one of the cut ends. Just depends on what you need or want. Luck :D
