what should i use to make an EXACT clone of my winxp cd?

Just a suggestion, if your going to make a copy of you WinXp cd for safe keeping, why not slipstream the updates and service packs? Once your done, you can burn it with Nero with no problems. For me, it made my bad habit of formating less painful.

Just a suggestion.

Can you explain slipstream?

Basically, your adding the contents of the service pack and whatever other updates you want to the installation cd. You would obviously have to copy the cd to your hd then re-burn. here is a tutorial on it slipstream

The microsoft site also gives you some information on the process, but I find the tutorials easier to follow.
