What should I upgrade on my rig?

Hello, I've had my rig for a couple of years now and dieing for an upgrade. My rig is:
p45 mobo
ati 4850
q9550 OC @ 3.14
old fashioned hdd
samsung LCD @ 1440x900
running on vista 32 bit
on-board sound card

I'm not looking to upgrade my platform at all. What I'm more interested in is upgrading to Windows 7, a SSD drive, new monitor, or perhaps a sound card.

I'm thinking of staying away from a monitor upgrade as that would most likely need a new GPU. Which means more money that I don't have at this moment.

What do you guys think would be the best upgrade for my rig? The monitor upgrade might be an issue, but if you think it's the best upgrade then please say so. Thanks!

Monitor. Even if you have to turn the settings down a little, monitor. 4850 still does well at 1080p, it won't max stuff out but everything will be playable still at some setting

Probably monitor. A 4850 handles most games fine anyways. The only other big boost you'd get is an SSD, but that can get pricey. You might as well save the money for a faster GPU.

What is "old fashioned HD", meaning not SSD? consider adding SSD to the mix?

how about getting a real sound card, unless you are totally satisfied with the onboard?

tv tuner card?

edit: this will all depend on how much you can spend, of course

Yes, my HDD is the typical 7200 rpm nothing special.

I don't have a truck load of money that I can dump into my rig, but that can also change with summer around the corner.

I guess what I'm asking for is what would be the best upgrade I can do on my rig? Meaning, for gaming and general use such as surfing the web, ect.

Honestly, I don't know a half as much as you guys do (seriously). I hear great things about SSD, but don't really know much about them. People always tell me to get a new monitor, but how much of a difference does that make? I never owned a soundcard and don't really know what I'm missing out on. Does Windows 7 improve my overall PC by using less resources then Vista?

All questions that I really don't know.

I'd say monitor. 1400x900 is holding back your video card I think. I game at 1600x1050 and I'm only using an old 8800GT, heh.
