Thanks for the great suggestions guys! As a noob, I really appreciate them. I get profit sharing from my job in March so I will probably part out my gear then and go with a c2d and hopefully a dx10 card (non-sli) if they are affordable(ish).

Ps. Astro Guardian; don't tell me how dashing I am, tell your girlfriends😉

i think gerwen's proposed build is very good. definitely go with the 8800GTS, not the GTX. and it goes for ~$370 USD...shouldn't taht be less than $500CAD? i was thinking more like $420ish. maybe dropping down to even an E6300 would be fine

Thanks for all the input guys. The final decission, (I think) is to go with a 8800GTS and a e6600. FUN!!! Now I wait for the prices to drop a bit..... 🙁
