The 2.6c, will r@pe the 2.4a with a 10 foot pole.
It will be considerably faster.

C, even though the 2.4a has a whole 512mb more cache than 2.6, it is still slower for two reasons the speed obviously and 533mhz bus. the bus more than the cache or 200mhz difference is the real factor here.

The 2.4a 1mb cache is a prescott chip....With the added stages over the northwood this chip really acts like a dog at this low mhz....The 2.6c will still rape the 2.4a...PLus the 533fsb really chokes the system and the 800fsb of the C and HT which the 2.4a I am sure does not have is worth its weight...

This is a no-brainer...

Definatly the 2.6c. Hyperthreading, runs cooler and clock for clock faster than the Prescott.
