what should i replace?

ok, i finally recieved my sony dru500a dvd burner and im going to install it this weekend. currently i have a 24x cd rom and a creative 8x4x32 cd burner installed. my question is which one should i replace with the burner? i was also thinking about selling both and getting a dvd rom. im leaning towards keeping the the old burner in and continue to use that for burning cd's and keep the wear and tear off the sony, but keeping the cd rom in and using that for games etc. makes sense too. also if i left the creative burner in would nero recognize both burners and would there be any conflicts when i install the software with the sony burner?

keep the Creative if you like or grab a DVDRom

yes..just make sure you running latest version

and would there be any conflicts when i install the software with the sony burner?

should not be any..if running XP or Me set a Restore Point tho before doing changes ..

why the cd rom and not the cd burner? also should have said that the cd rom is older and is only able to run in pio mode..

sorry..I had edited but not fast enough..thought you had a 24x burner..

works for me..maybe i'll try to trade the creative burner for a dvd rom although i dont think i'll get much interest in an 8x burner
