Miatas are nice cars.

Like you said, RWD, awesome handling, and very small. A very good autocrossing car. I wouldn't take one as a daily driver, but it has very nice performance for track use.

$9k seems about right, or at least, do a search on autotrader, see what similar conditioned cars are going for. While every car might not have 9k miles, it gives you a good idea on what people are asking, and go down from there.

The 99 is the new generation without the flip lights right?

Yeah it was the first year of the new body style.

This anti-Miata thing on ATOT needs to end. Little pimple-faced snot-nosed 15 year-olds that don't even have their licenses much less have ever driven one. :disgust:

They're good cars. Impractical and a bit cramped for taller drivers (though I know from experience no more cramped than a '92 RX-7, and people here seem to drool over those), but they roll solid 15's down the quarter stock, and kick serious ass through the cones, through the tight twisties, and do quite well on the track. Miatas have some of the best and most predictable oversteer that I have ever purposefully tossed around.
They're also very fun to drive, especially on a warm summer day on a back-country 2-lane blacktop with the top down. And they're extremely reliable.

I really don't get this hatred ATOT has towards them. They're certainly not for everyone, but they are by no means a "gay" car or a "chick" car. "Chicks" don't like little tiny cars like that. They like high-riding SUV's. Any of you ever driven a Miata down the freeway in pouring rain at night alongside a semi-tractor-trailer? I have. More than once. It's a little intimidating unless you have balls.

I've seen a few that were done up right, but, normally they have a sissy-boy look to them, and they all need some getupandgo from the factory.

My friend owned a first gen, 5spd, and it was a fun car to drive.

As long as you like it though, who cares what other people think. They are fairly reliable cars and fun to drive. Sounds like you found a good one for sale, I say go for it.

I just signed up for a carfax account and gave it my home email and the password I wanted. Well the password isn't working. They must have sent the real password or an activation link or something to my home email account. Now I can't use the service I paid for until late tonight. :|:(
