Lowballing is the way to do it, assuming I am lowballing anyway. I always try to get something for a good deal, especially on something I dont really need

Lowballing is usually an asshole move, so don't be surprised when someone returns the favor. The person who lowballed when I was selling my house got a slight taste of that. Offering 125k for a 300k house is going to get one of two reactions out of someone: retribution or disgust. I chose retribution.

So you sold them the house at their offer price but clogged the toilet really bad before you handed over the keys. You sick bastard.

I initially said no, but he countered with 135k, so I couldn't help myself.

I mailed a letter to a bank about an hour away that had another letter inside. The first letter said to hold the second letter for LowBall McGee. I told LowBall McGee to drive to the bank almost an hour away and ask for Unwitting Banker Accomplice to sign documentation after fake accepting his offer. The letter said "Go ___ yourself." He emailed me and said he was going to sue me for wasting his time. I said I would counter-sue for wasting my time, so we should call it even and go our separate ways.

This plan could have fallen apart several times, but it worked as planned. I'm mostly surprised Unwitting Banker Accomplice didn't open the second letter or send it back to me. He did call me after the exchange was completed because the guy got pissed off and stormed out, so he had no idea what just happened.

By fake accepting, I meant that I gave him a verbal agreement and signed absolutely nothing.

Yes, I sold the house by myself and it ended up going for 310k after two people got in a bidding war.
