1.Should I get a GeForce2 GTS based card (Asus V7700 Pure) and stay with my P3 533MHz (katmai) processor.

2.AMD Athlon 1100MHz/1200MHz + Asus A7V-E + ATi Radeon SDR 32MB

3.AMD Duron 800MHz + Asus A7V-E + Hercules Kyro2 64MB

4.AMD Duron 800MHz + Asus A7V133-C + Hercules GF2 MX 400 32MB

I don't think that moving to a Duron 800MHz CPU would show a good improvement over my P3 533MHz CPU;
Am I right?

I should also note that I want to play at 1024*768 with max settings...

Thank you for any input!!!

An 800MHz Duron should be pretty close to a 700MHz P3 in overall performance, and the better FPU should help in games. So I'm thinkin #1 and #4 should be close, for gaming at the higher res. One card is limited by the processor but has better bandwidth, the other card has limited bandwidth but has a better processor. Both choices still leave you open for further upgrades.

I would say option 3 or 4, and not #1 because the 533MHz processor would be holding back the framerates. #2 would be good if you play more CPU intensive games and/or encode video/music.

What about the ati radeon le? cheaper than the sdr and after a little modding you can get it at near radeon ddr performance.

And I would get a new prosessor!
