What type of computer should I get if I plan on using it for word processing, Internet and the occasional RGP? If I go above a 850 Duron will there be much of a difference? What would the difference be for something more than a Kyro II 64 MB?
 
If its just for the stuff you mentioned..

Duron of any speed
mobo with onboard sound
KyroII 32MB, 64MB if you really need it, or a Radeon LE
128MB PC133 CAS2 RAM
as large of a monitor as you can afford
never cheap out on a mouse or keyboard, either
a decent mid-tower case w/ a 300watt PS
a brand name CD-ROM, never cheap out here, either
7200RPM hard drive, 20GB Maxtor ATA100's are a good deal right now
