Im going to pick up a LCD widescreen & Have narrowed it down to the 23 inch Sony p234, the 23 inch HP L2335 or the 24 inch Samsung 243t. I guess im asking for your guys opinions. I can get the HP the cheapest, but Im worried about the quality of the product(Ive read reports of cheap materials & many stuck or dead pixels), the sony is the next cheapest but im not to familiar with Sony LCDs & their build quality. The samsung I can hopefully get around the $1700-$1800 range. This monitor has an inch on the other 2, plus Ive had & currently have a Samsung monitor(right now its the 213t) & im very impressed with the build quality-I have only 1 stuck pixel. My friend has one with no stuck or dead pixels. I realize the 2 23inchers have the 16ms panel while the sammie is 25ms, but I remember when I was getting my 213t everybody was saying "get the Dell 2001-it has a 16ms panel & the ghosting will be minimal compared to the 213t"-I got the 213t but was worried about the ghosting however I discovered that this ghosting issue is way overblown & is no where near as bad as its made out to be after playing games on my 213t. Thus the 243t's 25ms panel vs the 23inchers 16ms panel makes no difference to my choice.

anybody want to weigh in on any of the above 3 panels?

I too have been trying to decide amoung the three displays you are considering. Today I settled on the HP L2335. What tipped the scale for me was the high rating and review given by the folks at MAXIMUMPC. In the past I have gone pretty much with their recomendations and not been disappointed. They give the edge to the HP over the IBM. I have also seen some good (and bad reviews of all three). Most people that are satisfied do not seem to issue a review.

As far as my own requirements some of my decisive points were:

Inputs (extra composit, component, and S-vidieo) with the HP
Cost significantly less with the HP

Specs FPS, dot pixel size and Brightness NITS

Howevr, I am sure that either of the other two would also work for your own needs.

I dunno bout the others, but i was somewhat dissapointed with the size of the bevel on the Samsung 243T. Its much larger than the bevel on the 213T.

For those who are wondering I ended up getting the 243t & I am very pleased with it(only 1 stuck pixel!). It doesnt ghost nearly as much as the 213t & it puts out fantastic colors-just like the 213t did. Samsung has never done me wrong when it comes to LCD monitors. The only pain in the butt is having to modify some ini files on some games to run at 1920x1200

I heard samsung will replace a panel with any number of dead pixels... so if you are annoyed by them it is something to consider.

Its not dead-its stuck in red & its so small I can barely see it. Besides, I think the samsung replacement deal is overseas somewhere.

I am pretty sure it applies to all of their products everywhere...

But... Maybe you are right about the stuck vs dead 🙁
