What should I get my brother for his birthday?

My brother's birthday is coming up soon and I am debating what to get him for a gift. His notebook PC recently died (3 year old Thinkpad T-series) so one possibility is a new notebook PC. He also likes my widescreen LCD so I have also considered the Dell 2405 which would knock his socks off. His friends think I should get him a racing suit since he spends so much time at the track. He already has a nice helmet so a matching suit would be a nice touch.

I need to get my ass in gear if I hope to get his gift by 19 October so I need some help. Other suggestions short of getting him a hooker (he has a very jealous girlfriend) are welcomed.

EDIT: I'm getting him the 2405 LCD monitor,

He probably wants a few things though, and that's the point.

Well, I thought it was normal to stop giving gifts to people around the age of 15, but it doesn't surprise me that this is another thing that we do weirdly. 😉

In that case, I'd want the LCD monitor.

I agree. Get this monitor.
I got mine 2 weeks ago and it blew me away. It's impressive

On second thought, get 2 of 20 inch dell monitors ($394 this week), a top of the line wireless keyboard and mouse, and kick ass graphic card that can run both monitors.

You said he spends a lot of time a the track and that he already has a nice helmet. The laptop & LCD are certainly not poor choices but a racing suit would last much longer, directly feed into his enthusiast interest and it's something that will have him remembering you a lot more than a laptop or lcd would.

Of your choices mentioned; and your brothers' interests I'd defintely go with the racing suit.

I;m getting him the Dell 2405FPW. Over dinner with friends he remarked that he really liked my 2005FPW and was considering getting one.

Well, you're a cool Bro to do something like that. Still, any way you can drop a question that would answer whether or not he'd go for a racing suit instead?
