What should I get for a new monitor?

I currently have Dell's 2000fp monitor and would like to upgrade to a widescreen monitor. I am very much interested in Dell's 2005fpw, but I'm not too interested in its price. So I guese what I'm asking is are there any LCD's out there that are as good as or better than the 2005fpw at or cheaper than the Dell?

My main uses for the monitor will most likely be Gaming, a lot of Desktop work, and an occasional movie.

As for the budget, I'd like to keep it around $500.

The 2005fpw sometimes goes for 360shipped from dell after coupons and % off.

Also, if youre going to switch from a 2000fp to a 2005fpw, you should know that you will be giving up veritcal length for horizontal. Meaning, the 2005fpw is wide but the length from top to bottom is almost as small as a 17"
