why is there such a price jump from T-bird 800 to t-bord850 and such a small jump from 850 to 900. Is the 850 and 900 on new technology. Do you recommend to get a 900 if its $50 more. Also Iam wondering if it is worth it to pay $50 mor efor Radeon SDR over Ge-ForceMX2. What is a good brand for GE force. What is the difference between SDR ans DDR and is it bad to get SDR

and does anyone know the difference between ecc and non ecc ram? which one should i get for my msi k7tpros2a with thunderbird processor.

For $1000 start here: Anand Value Buyers Guide summary, the gaming system is $1045. It's a few weeks old so the prices will be a bit off, but it should be close.

Value Video Card roundup has a Radeon SDR and a GF2MX in it. The MX is a bit faster, but the Radeon has much nicer image quality. You decide.

No a TBird 800 or 850 is not a different technology. They are the exact some just one is faster. As for price jump it's probably considered the crossover between mid-range to high-range. As for whether it's worth it you have to decide that. How much CPU power are you willing to pay for?

Right now I'd favour Elsa geforces because they apperntly have good image quality, but I've never seen an Elsa myself so I can't confirm this.

ECC is error checking and correcting RAM it's a bit slower than non-ECC but it checks the validity of data being sent to ensure it's got no errors in it. Personally I find it not very useful but if you are in data critical situations you may want it. In my view it's only useful for servers and the like. I'd stick to non-ECC it's faster and cheaper.
