A friend of mine offered me a sound card for a modest price. i like it but i never heard of this model of creative soundcard.its called "SB Audio PCI" but on the pcb its written somethin` about Compaq. The friend told me that the card was ripped from a Compaq PC.He also told me i can use drivers from creative or ensoniq !? Im puzzled!
Any ideas about the quality of this mysterious card? What shoud i do?😕

SB Audio PCI is probably the name of the card in the Device Manager. I'd stay away from Compaq cards because they're usually made for Compaqs, but you can give it a shot on your computer. Can you get some more information from the card (i.e. numbers, anything written on the chips of the card or the card itself)? Hope this helps.

BTW: Welcome to the forums 😀
