Hi all,

recently out of nowhere, my WoW acct was hacked and I have gotten two notices in gmail that someone accessed my account from china and have their IP listed.

I feel like I'm under attack but I don't know how to stop and protect myself from it.

Please help.

Contact blizzard and tell them your account was hacked, they will probably ask proof that you're the owner of the account somehow and most likely help you get it back.

Oh yeah and make sure to do a complete virus scan to make sure you don't have any keyloggers. If you don't have any Antivirus software, at least you can download AVG free and use that.

often that email is a phishing scam. do not trust any link in a "WoW" email. Do not give out any account info or enter your password via the email.

As noted, the vast majority of "hacking notfications" are fakes, phishing for more information.

oh no guys.

I didn't click on any of those fake emails. And I got my account restored.

My problem is 1. wow got hacked 2. and gmail says 2 china IP accessed my gmail.

How can I protect myself from an already ongoing attack? I downloaded AVG and everything is clear.

I solve those problems by changing password and stuff, but theres no guarantee they wont atack again.

Add an authenticator to your account.

WOW did not get hacked, YOU got hacked. Change your surfing habits and use an account with limited access. Continue to use anti virus and make sure your firewall is enabled.

Also, make sure your WoW password is reasonably strong so it can't just be brute-forced. A passphrase might be a good idea, because they can be strong by virtue of their length, yet easy to remember. My cleric is a ninja! for example. Upper-case, lower-case, symbols, plenty long.
